| Most fit or Most Prolific |
Schutzenberger has shown
Neodarwinian approach to origin of species to be Tautological (meaningless).
He states that all the hypotheses state is that the organism that
survives has survived, or said another way, the organism leaving the
greatest number of progeny will survive. Able, hardworking, intelligent
people do not in general have the most children. same in the animal
and plant world. Rats are prolific and place higher animals in jeopardy
for survival. |
| I Feel Cheated |
Beneficial characteristics should remain
in higher forms and man have them all, but alas, we have been cheated.
Compared to man, a chimp is 6 times as strong; Owls see 100 times
better at night; male silkworm can smell females 7 miles away; Cheetahs
can run 70 MPH; a flea can jump 130 times its own height; the Crotalid
snake can sense temperature changes of 1/100 degrees; the Trilobite's
(extinct for 300 million years?) eye has the most sophisticated
lenses ever produced by nature; Toads can fast for a year and ticks,
for 18 years and nematodes for 39 years. |
| Punctuated Equilibrium |
Goldschmidt
said that evolution could never have occurred thru micro-changes accumulating
over vast amounts of time. He then formulated the "Hopeful Monster"
theory - Evolution by leaps and bounds (Megaevolution). One day an
alligator laid an egg and out hatched a bird. A shock for both alligator
and bird! |
| Stupid Animals |
Some species don't know when to stay dead.
Coelacanthus (Latemeria) was an index fossil, a missing link
in evolution of fish and had been extinct for 70 million years - that
is until the silly fish began to be repeatedly caught off the shores
of Madagascar. |
| Index Fossils |
Geologists date rocks by index fossils
and they date fossils by the layer of rocks they are in (circular
reasoning). What if the index fossil are wrong? In 1974, Burdick found
a set of fossilized footprints of a barefoot child in a wheeler formation
at 2000 feet altitude in the Swasey Mountains (west central Utah).
In the middle of a track laid the compressed remains of a Trilobite.
Obviously the Trilobite was not fossilized when the child steeped
on it. It must have been alive to be squashed. But we know that Trilobites
became extinct 300 million years ago and certainly man came no earlier
than 3 million years ago????? |
| Vivid Imagination |
Early man had quite
an imagination. In caves in Arizona are drawings of humans with animals
that look remarkably like dinosaurs. Some even look like the Dragons
we know are purely fables and mythical tales for children. |
| Symmetry |
Paired
organs - a severe challenge to evolutionary thesis. How do you get
2 each of eyes, ears, arms, legs, hands, feet, brain lobes, lungs,
kidneys, adrenals, breasts and gonads. Plants exhibit great and beautiful
symmetry. Single, highly specialized organs are difficult beyond calculation
to get a chance - put pairs? Wow! |
| Mirror Images |
If paired organs are
hard, try mirror images. Pairs now become easy. |
